F. Joseph Gormley has over 20 years of litigation and counseling experience representing businesses and executives in competition and business law matters, including antitrust, distribution, franchise, acquisitions, executive matters, stockholder agreements, government investigations (including FTC and Justice Department investigations) and joint ventures.
He has served clients ranging from local businesses to multinational entities. His clients have come from many different states as well as almost ten different countries on three different continents, and he has worked extensively with clients in industries such as hospitality, computer services, automotive, defense, oil, energy, telecom, internet, high tech, entertainment, and healthcare. He has represented privately and publicly held businesses or their shareholders, officers or directors in matters including antitrust and competition, acquisitions, distribution, franchise, disputes over stockholdings and officer positions, stockholders’ agreements, licensing and other intellectual property, executive departures, trade secrets, and general business litigation.
Mr. Gormley also regularly counsels a prominent petroleum industry joint research forum, and represented a major internet company at meetings of the Secure Digital Music Initiative.
Mr. Gormley has served in the American Bar Association leadership since the 1990s, first as a vice chair of the Books and Treatises Committee of the Section of Antitrust Law (1999–2003); then as vice chair of that section’s Programs Committee (2003–2004); then as vice chair of the Teleseminars Committee (2004–2006); then as chair of the Teleseminars Committee (2006–2009), then as co-chair of the Committee Operations Task Force. From 2012 to 2014 Mr. Gormley served as the Chair of the Section’s Business Torts and Civil Rico Committee. Currently he serves as a member of the Content Delivery Task Force. Prior to his service in the ABA Anitrust Section leadership, he was assistant chair for Policy & Planning, Federal Bar Association, Antitrust & Trade Regulation Section (1998–1999).
Mr. Gormley is a member of the Bars of Maryland, Massachusetts, the District of Columbia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and the United States Supreme Court
Hon. Ronald H. Jarashow is a former judge on the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County. In 35 years of law practice before becoming a judge in February 2010, he represented businesses and individuals in all Maryland and District of Columbia, State and Federal trial and appeals courts.
Mr. Jarashow handles complex business, employment, personal injury, and medical malpractice litigation. He also provides non-litigation advice to businesses, employers and employees concerning general legal issues and employment disputes. Mr. Jarashow was former general counsel in the United States for a sailboat manufacturer. He taught business law and advised businesses through the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County economic development office.
In 2009, Mr. Jarashow was selected as one of the best business lawyers in the Baltimore / Annapolis metropolitan areas by two magazines, SmartCEO Magazine and What’s Up Annapolis. He was also selected as a 2014 leading General Practice and Medical Malpractice lawyer by What’s Up Annapolis magazine. Mr. Jarashow has presented at seminars on employment law, business law, personal injury, electronic discovery, evidence, and civil litigation. SuperLawyers has selected Mr. Jarashow as a leading Maryland attorney. His 2012 article on Cross-Examination was selected by the Maryland Association for Justice as the best article of the year.
Mr. Jarashow is an experienced mediator / arbitrator. From 1995 through 2009, Mr. Jarashow was a mediator for Anne Arundel County Circuit Court on all types of civil cases. Using his judicial experience, he is currently conducting arbitrations and mediations.
Mr. Jarashow graduated in 1971 from Franklin & Marshall College with a B.A. in English. He spent a year studying at the University of Lancaster in Lancaster, England, where he was a member of the sailing team. He graduated in 1975 from the Catholic University Law School where he was a member of the Law Review and a writing assistant to a professor who wrote columns for the American Bar Association. Mr. Jarashow was a moot court judge during and after law school. After law school, he was the law clerk in 1975-76 to Chief Judge Richard P. Gilbert on the Court of Special Appeals where he worked on about 150 appeals. Since that time, he has argued over 35 appeals concerning varied subjects in civil, business, employment, criminal, and family law.
Jeff Bowman is a trial lawyer with a focus on business litigation, estate and trust litigation, product liability, construction and real estate claims and general civil litigation including serious personal injury. Mr. Bowman also provides non-litigation advice for new and established businesses.
Mr. Bowman is recognized on the Maryland “Top 100” lawyer list by Super Lawyers. Mr. Bowman has also been voted by his peers as a “Leading Lawyer” in What’s Up Annapolis Magazine in five different areas of law: litigation, business law, employment law, construction law, and education law.
Mr. Bowman represents both individuals and businesses in complex trials and appeals before Maryland’s state and federal court. He is engaged by out of state law firms in matters involving litigation in Maryland, as well as attorneys seeking assistance in federal court matters.
Mr. Bowman obtained his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law. Mr. Bowman is admitted to practice law in Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
Mr. Bowman is active in his community serving on local boards including the Friends Foundation – an Annapolis based non-profit organization formed in 1998 – and United Way of Central Maryland, Anne Arundel County Partnership. Mr. Bowman is also active in the legal community serving in various positions in the Maryland State Bar Association and as a board member for the Anne Arundel County Bar Association.
Attorney Paul H. Farmer, Jr. is an associate at the firm of Gormley Jarashow Bowman LLC. He handles business litigation, transactional and counseling matters, and has experience with non-compete issues, business formation, and commercial property disputes among other areas.
Mr. Farmer received his B.S. in Political Science from Clemson University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law. During law school, he was a member of the Journal of Business & Technology Law where he served on the Executive Board. His comment, Speculative Tech: The Bitcoin Legal Quagmire & the Need for Legal Innovation was published in the Journal. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Farmer served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Kendra Y. Ausby at the Circuit Court for Baltimore City.
Mr. Farmer was admitted to the Maryland State Bar in December 2014, the Bar for the United States District Court for the District of Maryland in April 2016, and the District of Columbia Bar in August 2016 . He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Young Lawyers Section, the Anne Arundel County Bar Association, and the Bar Association of Baltimore City.
Frank Lozupone is an associate with the firm. He handles business litigation, serious personal injury, transactional and counseling matters, and has experience with non-compete issues, business formation, fiduciary litigation, and real estate and construction litigation among other areas.
Mr. Lozupone graduated magna cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2016 where he obtained his Juris Doctor. Mr. Lozupone was a member of the Law Review, a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship, and a member of the Royal Shannonhouse Honor Society. Mr. Lozupone obtained his B.S. in Chemistry from St. Francis University, PA in 2010.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Lozupone served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Thomas G. Ross at the Circuit Court for Queen Anne’s County. Following his clerkship, he was employed at a large regional law firm focusing on the defense of professionals including, but not limited to, attorneys, architects, engineers, and real estate agent.
Mr. Lozupone was admitted to the Maryland State Bar in December 2016. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Young Lawyers Section and the Anne Arundel County Bar Association.
Brooke Hytovitz Bowman has over a decade of experience in estate and gift planning matters, estate and trust administration and business succession planning. Brooke also advises businesses and provides legal assistance in creating business organizations, including, but not limited, to tax-exempt organizations, multi-member limited liability companies and corporations.
Brooke obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law, Cum Laude and her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. While in law school, she was an Associate Editor for the University of Baltimore Law Forum where she wrote and published an article regarding a surviving spouse’s election of a statutory share. Brooke was recognized for receiving the highest grade in the Federal Income Taxation course.
Brooke was admitted to the Maryland State Bar in 2007. In September 2008 she served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Paul G. Goetzke in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County. After working for a Baltimore firm for 10 years, Brooke shifted her practice closer to her home – Annapolis. She started the Law Office of Brooke H. Bowman, LLC and affiliated with Gormley Jarashow Bowman in 2019.
Brooke is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Anne Arundel County Bar Association. Brooke was honored as one of Annapolis’ 40 Finest for 2013 by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Brooke lives in Annapolis with her husband, three children and two Old English Sheepdogs.
